Alright! Lets get started with this post!
Pretty exciting post for me, I've posted on my Instagram previously that i did my double eyelid (DST) procedure at MeClinic JB. I posted my healing process on my insta story too.
What is DST ?
It is a Double Suture and Twist Technique, a double eyelid procedure.
So here i am sharing my experience!
What is DST ?
It is a Double Suture and Twist Technique, a double eyelid procedure.
DST is a technique that was invented in 2001 by Dr Akihiro Minami, a renowned plastic surgeon in Japan. Designed to be a minimally invasive procedure, DST does not require significant incisions to be made, hence does not leave behind significant scars on the patient’s eyelids.
As such, DST has become quite a common technique that is used in Japan since its invention. A relatively simple procedure, it can take about 30 to 40 minutes for both eyes.
So here i am sharing my experience!
If you guys don't know, I have monolids and I've been wanting to do double eyelid since the longest time. (but i was too young and too broke. hahah)
Of course, eyelid tape came to the rescue.
I've tried different eyelid tapes and eventually found the method to make my eyes look better with it.
Here's the difference with and without make up. (before DST)
As time passed, i got used to putting eyelid tape.
But what made me really want to get DST is because sometimes i have to redo to make them look nicer and even. It can be so frustrating and sometimes it hurts from taking the tape out too many times.
AND there were a few friends who went to do their eyelids which made me even confident that i want IT.
I went to read many reviews on the clinic and I love their results!
On the day of the procedure
I wasn't feeling nervous at all even when she was going through what the Dr will be doing. I already knew cause i really read any reviews that i can find (Haha)
After briefing, we went in to consult the Dr.
I wanted parallel eyelids, but the Dr say that it will eventually go down and will look like tapered.
& If the crease is high it will not look natural.
So i just said "Okay just make me look chio"
I just let him do his magic on me.
So we walked into the "surgery" room and the lady helped me to wash my face.
I was feeling a little shaky at this moment
During the procedure
Dr was very nice to tell me what he's doing/going to do.
There will be a total of 6 injections on each eyes. 3 on the eyelid, 3 on the inner eyelid.
Honestly it didnt hurt for me on the outer part, It just feels like ants bite.
I have high tolerance for pain.
For the inner eye injection, it felt a little uncomfortable when it comes to the corner of the eye.
But still, bearable.
After that i couldn't feel anything, no pain at all.
It was done after 30mins!
After the procedure
They gave me the gel ice pack to put on my eyelids and they also gave me antibiotics, pain killers and ointment to put on my eyelid.
The only torture i feel is to eat antibiotic medicine because i can't swallow medicine. HAHA
Healing process
I have very minimal downtime, i was already able to go out on post-day 3.
I did not have bruises. It healed pretty fast and well for me.
(Photos all taken on Day 3)
Really love the height of the crease on day 3!!
